Megan Kern
Forensic Accountant and Paralegal
Beginning her life’s journey in New Orleans, Megan’s small town upbringing gifted her with an introspective view of close-knit, family and community connections. In her free time, she enjoys watching her children play sports, advance through the ranks of Girl Scouts and making family memories that she’ll be able to cherish forever.
Journey to Family Law
As a product of divorce, Megan learned at an early age that a divorce can be a traumatic event for all parties, including children. Her mother was married and divorced three times before I reached 18. Looking back, each marriage and subsequent divorce had its own tribulations, including domestic violence, financial, substance abuse, relocation and custody. To say she had a manual for “Men with Red Flags” at such a young age is an understatement. She learned from her life and her perseverance. She learned how to move on and learned how to forgive. She used those hurdles and avoided those “red flags”.
Favorite Types of Cases
While she thoroughly enjoys Community Property cases, Megan’s favorite part about her job is her clients. Being an advocate while having the opportunity for them to thrive post divorce is one of the most fulfilling parts of her job.

Why Clients Love Megan:
“I can’t say enough about what this woman has done for me. Megan had my back when I felt I couldn’t even turn to my family for help, because half of them by now were in-laws! She made sure I received exactly what I wanted in my separation, and then some to support myself in starting a new life. She is absolutely one of the most effective paralegals I have ever worked with and would be happy to recommend her to anyone.”
