[et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text”]All of us have had moments of truth that caused a huge shift in our lives, physically, emotionally, or both. These “lightbulb moments” are the motivating forces that push us forward, command us to shed the past, and demand that we yearn for something better. That’s why we started the Purple Light Project, to initiate and continue the spread domestic violence awareness and support victims in our community year-round.
Domestic abuse affects 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men in our community, and this October we’re letting them know that we are here to help them find their “lightbulb moment”. Whether you’re in need of a conversation, a friend, a safe haven, a guide, a resource, or any other system of support, we are here. For anyone who’s been pushed down for so long that it feels normal to be abused, we are here. For women and men, young and old, who don’t know that there is a way out, we are here.
With our Purple Light Project, these deep blue bulbs say, “We Are Here” and our goal is to shower the entire Village in the soothing support of these wonderful wavelengths. Then move on to the garages of Gilbert, the cul-de-sac’s of Chandler, the streets of Scottsdale and beyond with the message that we can help prevent domestic abuse, if we just shed some light upon it.
As a firm full of family attorneys who specialize in divorce, domestic abuse and custody issues, Modern Law will be leaving our purple light, each night in October. To make it easy on our neighbors, we will be visiting the shops in the community to ask if they would like to take part in our fundraiser. For each light bulb, we are asking for a $10 donation, and that you display the light in your window for the month of October. All proceeds will be donated to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
We will be doubling the donation efforts from the community at the end of the month. You may also show your support by purchasing your own light to display in your shop or at home, stopping into our offices in front of Macy’s and next to One Medical and purchasing a bulb.
If you would like to participate, would like more info on domestic violence, or have any questions about our  domestic violence awareness, call us at 480-649-2905 or email mark@mymodernlaw.com. Let’s paint Gilbert purple for Domestic Violence Awareness Month!
