GETTING TO KNOW EMILY
If you weren't in the legal profession, what would your alternative career be?
Some kind of manager or owner at a resort or vacation destination. I have always loved hospitality and I already host pretty elaborate dinner parties at home, so it feels like a natural fit.
Which fictional lawyer or legal character do you resonate with the most? Why?
I would create a conservation law requiring clean transportation, wildlife bridges, and water conservation in every community. Tucson is so unique and beautiful and I want to keep it that way.
If you could create a new law, what would it be and why?
Elle Woods, and I have heard it a hundred times. I love pink, I bring high energy into every room, and I know people sometimes underestimate me because of my aesthetic. That is their mistake. When I need to be, I can be completely cutthroat in the courtroom.
If you could have a legal-themed superpower, what would it be and why?
A super-computer built into my brain with instant access to Westlaw. Nothing slows down a courtroom argument like bad wifi.
