Kenzie Heeb

Kenzie Heeb is a legal assistant who brings to the table a wealth of experience in working with children and families. Prior to becoming a Legal Assistant, she worked with the Department of Child Safety as a Case Aide, where she supervised visits between children and their parents. This role helped her better understand the effects that stressful situations can have on children, and motivated her to make a difference in the lives of families going through difficult times.

Growing up with divorced parents, Kenzie experienced first-hand the stress and challenges that come with separation and divorce. This personal experience has fueled her desire to be a part of making this situation less stressful for families who are going through this.

Kenzie was born and mostly grew up in North Phoenix, but also spent a significant amount of time in a small town in Missouri. Her parents would frequently move between Arizona and Missouri so that her grandparents could spend equal time with her and her siblings. After settling down in Phoenix when she was in first grade, Kenzie attended high school and later went on to study Criminology and Criminal Justice at Northern Arizona University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree with a minor in Sociology.

Kenzie’s professional superpower is communication. She has worked hard to be an effective communicator in both her personal and professional life because she believes that effective communication is essential for conveying ideas and feelings. Her communication skills have been praised by previous coworkers and supervisors for their efficiency.

One life-changing event that caused more personal growth than anything else for Kenzie was her parents’ divorce when she was eight years old. Her mother was an alcoholic, and the constant fighting between her parents took a toll on Kenzie and her siblings. When her parents finally separated, Kenzie was sad but also relieved. However, adjusting to having two separate households was extremely difficult for her. Feeling alone and without anyone to relate to, Kenzie spent a lot of time by herself and became very introverted. But this experience taught her how to be confident in who she is as a person and to be independent.

Outside of work, Kenzie enjoys spending time with her boyfriend of 5 years, whom she met in middle school and plans to marry soon. She loves playing pickleball with her sister and brother-in-law, going out to eat at her favorite restaurants, and spending time with her two cats, Wybie and Ollie, and her 5-month-old Golden Retriever, Bentley.

With her Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, Kenzie hopes to become a Paralegal in the future. She is proud of her academic achievements and looks forward to using her knowledge and experience to make a difference in the legal field.
