Fun Fact

Eilen had zero hiking experience…but her first-ever hike was Echo Canyon Trail on Camelback Mountain—one of Arizona’s most intense climbs. No warm-up trail. No “let’s start easy”. Against all beginner logic (and probably a few concerned looks from other hikers), she powered through and made it to the top—proving she’s exactly the kind of person who won’t back down from a challenge.

What it's like to work with Eilen

Eilen brings a robust litigation foundation to her family law practice, having honed her skills at Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, P.L.C., one of Arizona’s premier civil defense and trial firms. There, she represented businesses and clients in high-exposure matters including general liability, construction defect, and complex tort cases, managing them through all phases of litigation from discovery and dispositive motions to mediation and trial preparation. This experience developed her strategic case evaluation abilities, meticulous attention to evidentiary detail, and trial-ready approach to case preparation.

Her litigation expertise is further strengthened by prosecution-focused experience through clerkships and internships. As a Law Clerk in the Mortgage and Financial Fraud Unit at the Utah Attorney General’s Office from July 2023 through May 2024, she drafted motions, managed large-scale discovery, and prepared litigation strategy in complex financial crime cases. Earlier, from February 2021 through July 2023, she advanced from Legal Support Assistant to Legal Intern at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, where she first-chaired hearings, tried two dangerous-designation aggravated assault cases to verdict, examined witnesses, argued motions, and assisted with homicide and other serious felony matters.

Eilen transitioned to family law because it centers on people and allows her to combine courtroom-ready advocacy with compassionate, service-driven client care during one of life’s most stressful seasons. She is committed to clear, direct communication and proactive case management, ensuring clients understand not just what is happening in their case but why. Known for thoroughly preparing clients for court, negotiations, and difficult conversations, Eilen’s approach prioritizes making clients feel informed, supported, and confident as she works to protect what matters most and help them move forward.

Getting to Know Eilen

If you weren't in the legal profession, what would your alternative career be?

If I weren’t an attorney, I’d be a wedding planner. I love the combination of logistics, people, creativity, and high-stakes problem solving. It’s still client-centered, still fast-paced, and still requires being calm and decisive when things change quickly, which is very similar to what I do as a lawyer.

Which fictional lawyer or legal character do you resonate with the most? Why?

Judge Judy. She is direct, decisive, and relentlessly focused on the truth. She listens carefully, identifies inconsistencies immediately, and is not distracted by emotion, excuses, or unnecessary conflict. Her approach is firm but fair, efficient but principled. That balance strongly aligns with how I practice law, especially in emotionally charged cases.

If you could create a new law, what would it be and why?

I would create a law requiring courts to make explicit credibility findings when testimony is disputed in family law cases. Judges would be required to state which testimony they found credible and why. This would discourage false narratives, reward consistency and honesty, and bring greater transparency and accountability to decisions that deeply affect families.

If you could have a legal-themed superpower, what would it be and why?

The ability to immediately identify the single fact that truly decides the case. Family law disputes are often clouded by emotion and distraction. Being able to pinpoint the decisive issue early would reduce unnecessary conflict, streamline resolution, and keep clients focused on meaningful outcomes.
