Modern Law Pro Bono Event Set For Dec. 2

Divorce And Family Lawyer Near Me

Modern Law has donated more than $31,000 worth of free legal help with 127 hours of attorney assistance since beginning a program last year to help people facing divorce and family law issues.

Modern Law’s Pro Bono Day events, held every other month, have given access to free legal advice to more than 254 people since beginning in August of 2021. The next event is set for December 2 beginning at 2 p.m. in both their Peoria and Mesa offices. Signups are available online at MyModernLaw.com/pro-bono-day.

Modern Law has offered no-cost meetings with attorneys at their events to talk privately about family law issues, such as strategies for divorce, assessment of issues, and projections for the best outcomes.

“Our goal is to make legal help much more accessible and a lot less scary,” said Modern Law owner Billie Tarascio. “A lot of people think legal help is something that’s expensive, but we’ve put together some very affordable options and even free resources for people who want to handle their own case.”

Available on a first-come-first-serve basis, licensed Arizona attorneys and licensed Legal Paraprofessionals, who are now licensed by the state to represent clients in court, will be available to meet with people for a consultation on questions about things like child custody, alimony (spousal support), powers of attorney and child support.

Organizers expect consultation slots to fill up quickly.
